Each of the ten questions has four answers, from least to most ready. Your answers are added up and mapped onto a 1 to 10 scale, then placed in one of four levels: Getting Started (1 to 3), Building Momentum (4 to 6), Well Positioned (7 to 8), and AI Forward (9 to 10). Every question carries the same weight, because a team that uses AI daily but has disorganized data is not much further ahead than one that has clean data but never touches the tools.

There is no pass mark. Very few businesses score a perfect 10, and landing somewhere in the middle is normal for a company that has started experimenting with tools like ChatGPT but has not yet built AI into its workflows. What matters more than the number is which of the ten areas pulled it down, since those are the gaps worth closing before you spend money on a bigger project.

The fixes at that stage tend to be cheap and fast: a training session so your team knows what the tools can actually do, tidying up a shared drive, or writing down one or two repetitive processes.
